Open House

I am having a stand at an open house next Tuesday from 9.30am – 11am.

I will have a selection of things that would make good christmas presents.

Come along to Lucys’ House *address removed*

Passing Buys on Facebook

Just checked out an update on facebook from Passing Buys and have spotted some pics of my stuff. They had the booties on display on a corner cabinet. Also some bibs on the dresser.

Super exciting even now!

UPDATE:

Passing Buys has had a name change to :-

Local Roots and Wellie Boots

A Present for Sally

This is a pressie for our cousins brand new little girl…Sally. I chose yellow flowers for a bright summer theme – booties and a matching bib. They won’t fit her quite yet as she is a premie baby but she will soon grow into them!

Octopus set

The first finished set….although I’ve had second thoughts about the buttons for eyes as they are a potential hazard which I thought of after adding their prettyness.

Cut, pinned and ready to sew.

After a couple of weeks of rest from sewing due to other commitments I spent some time yesterday cutting out loads of pieces to pin on bibs and babygrows. I have been drawing designs over the past couple of weeks and yesterday I just had to try some out for real. Were having a stand at the wood fair so I have some tree themed ideas and a couple of others for variety. Also working on some more wood fair ideas but my index fingers became numb after hours of cutting out and so I had to stop (still numb today!). I have also started designing emblems for bibs and babygrows.

Annabel…

It turns out that Annabelle was spelt Annabel so when my friend arrived to collect there was lot of correcting and careful unpicking so it ended up not looking quite so central!

What Goes Bib In The Night?

During another sleepless and long night of illness I decided to focus on making a bib for a friend’s new baby. Reading proved to tricky to concentrate on. It acted as a very good distraction technique and turned out much better than i expected. I tried sewing letters by hand without guidemarks and for the first time – I was pretty pleased with the results.

Joyful Shopful…

I visited the shop today to give them my ‘about me’ and as promised here are some pictures of the displays.

They were displayed beautifully alongside some great complimentary colours and items.

I really liked the bootie ‘n’ bib drawer – so cute!

Just as you walk in through the door theres a gorgeous vase of Sweet Williams and a selection of booties around the base – Fab!

It was a just a fantastic feeling to see all my stuff displayed so wonderfully. Thank You Passing Buys!

Busy Bee

I have been very busy today – feeling ill, recovering by doing nothing all afternoon but sewing.

I have also been making a few more bibs- a whale and two apples.

I spent ages deciding which fabrics and cottons to use and I really enjoyed the ‘thinking’ and ‘designing’ part this time – rather than having had the idea two weeks ago and rushing to get it done which is the usual. might make another whale tonight…or not…depending on how good Inspector Lynley is!

I have two suitcases full of booties:

Also thought you might like to see my ‘working tray’. So I can move about the house from bed to sofa with all my current bits and bobs! Very handy although a little too wide to negotiate opening doors and getting through door frames with ease!

Bibs Away!

I have now taken photos of everything and chose a few of the best to share. These are some of the bibs I’ve made over the past few weeks. I think the chickens are sooooo cute!
